why these frames?

We went looking for sunglasses that felt like our shorts. Something you can wear off the boat and into dinner without changing. JOPLINS makes frames out of bamboo, certified wood and plant based acetate, in small runs out of Lisbon, and the shapes are classic enough to sit with a print and quiet enough to sit with a solid. That was the whole brief.

Round frames (Stinson, Ganges, Alona) suit square and angular faces. Square and wayfarer shapes (Lark, Benja, Marley, Moon) suit rounder faces. Faro and Shiva sit in between and work on most. Frame widths run 140 to 148 mm, a standard men's fit.
