Art Basel: The world’s most talked-about art fair

Art Basel, the world’s most talked-about art fair has landed in Miami and closing weekend Friday, December 2 through Sunday, December 7, is officially upon us. As the city transforms into a playground of installations, brand activations, and exhibitions, navigating it can be overwhelming.

Lucky for you, we’ve curated the must-see fairs and exhibits—so you’ll know exactly where to be (and be seen).

SCOPE Art Show

SCOPE returns to Miami Beach for its 24th edition with 90+ international galleries. Known for showcasing emerging talent, the fair is an oasis for contemporary and modern art, immersive installations, and cross-disciplinary programming that blends art with music, technology, and culture.

We’re especially looking forward to meeting Miami-based artist Mira (@mirafrommiami) during her “Paint with the Artist” experience with Bellwether Art—a playful, tech-infused session that invites visitors to co-create alongside her.

Untitled Art

Founded in 2012, Untitled Art has approximately 160 exhibitors and is a destination for discovering everything from rising talent to instantly recognizable art pieces.

This year’s Main Galleries feature returning exhibitors like South Africa’s WHATIFTHEWORLD, Minneapolis’ HAIR+NAILS, and New York’s Swivel Gallery. What makes Untitled especially chic? Its commitment to accessibility—offering discounted booths to young galleries and nonprofits through its NEST program.

Faena Art Week: Library of Us by Es Devlin

One of this year’s most exciting free installations sits directly on the beach in front of the Faena Hotel. Library of Us, by Es Devlin, is a 50-foot kinetic sculpture that slowly rotates within a mirrored pool, housing 2,500 books. Visitors gather around a sweeping 70-foot reading table, complete with rotating chairs that cultivate a serene, collective experience. After Art Week, all 2,500 books will be donated to local schools and libraries.

Art Basel Miami Beach

Now in its 23rd edition, Art Basel Miami Beach is the crown jewel of the week, hosting 283 international galleries with a strong emphasis on Latinx, Indigenous, and diasporic voices. It’s massive—plan for a full day at the show.  We’re particularly excited for the debut of Zero10, a new platform spotlighting digital art, as well as the return of Meridians, the large-format sector dedicated to monumental, immersive works.

Design Miami

Design Miami returns for its 21st edition, curated by Glenn Adamson and staged beachside. A magnet for the style set (everyone from Rihanna to Joe Jonas has been spotted strolling its aisles), the fair centers this year’s theme, “Make. Believe.” Expect a showcase of collectible design, museum-quality furniture, lighting, and objets d’art spanning the 20th and 21st centuries.
